LEGAL
Privacy Policy.
Last updated: 19 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Inboxtel collects, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We've kept it as short and clear as possible. If anything is unclear, email support@inboxtel.com.
Short version: We collect the minimum needed to run the Service. We don't sell your data. We monitor account activity to prevent abuse. We keep records for legal compliance.
1. Who We Are
Inboxtel is an independent service operated in Nigeria. We provide virtual phone numbers for SMS verification, resold from third-party API providers. For privacy questions, contact us at support@inboxtel.com.
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Account details: Gmail address, username, WhatsApp number (for account verification)
- Payment information: When you top up your wallet, our payment processors (Korapay, Flutterwave) handle your card or bank details. We do not store your full card number. We only receive a transaction reference and amount.
- Communications: Any messages you send us via email or support
Information we collect automatically
- Account activity: Numbers purchased, codes received, wallet transactions, timestamps
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, approximate location (country-level, based on IP)
- Session data: Login timestamps and session identifiers
Information we do NOT collect
- We do not read the content of SMS messages beyond delivering the code to you
- We do not store your password in plain text — it is hashed and salted
- We do not track you across other websites
3. Why We Collect It
- To operate the Service: Creating your account, processing purchases, delivering codes
- To process payments: Sending transaction details to Korapay and Flutterwave to charge you
- To prevent abuse: Detecting fraud, spam, and violations of our Terms — including IP logging, velocity checks, and manual review
- To comply with the law: Responding to valid legal requests, retaining records as required
- To improve the Service: Aggregate analysis of usage patterns (never identifying individuals)
4. Who We Share It With
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Payment processors: Korapay and Flutterwave, to process top-ups and refunds
- Number providers: The minimum data required to purchase a virtual number for you (typically country and service — not your personal details)
- Infrastructure providers: Cloud hosting and database services that store our systems
- Legal authorities: When compelled by valid legal process under Nigerian law
5. How Long We Keep It
- Account data: For as long as your account is active, plus 12 months after closure
- Transaction records: Minimum 6 years, as required for tax and anti-money-laundering compliance in Nigeria
- Session data (IP, timestamps): 12 months
- Support communications: 24 months
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no system is 100% secure. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
7. Your Rights
Under Nigerian data protection law (NDPR) and, where applicable, other laws, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and associated data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Object to certain processing activities
- Export your data in a portable format
To exercise any of these, email support@inboxtel.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
8. Cookies and Local Storage
We use cookies and browser local storage only for essential purposes: staying logged in, remembering your theme preference, and keeping your session secure. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
9. Children
The Service is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn we have, we will delete it and close the account.
10. International Users
Our systems are based in Nigeria and other jurisdictions. If you use the Service from outside Nigeria, your data will be transferred to and processed in Nigeria. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the Service or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top always shows the current version.
